Glycolic Acid for Acne Scars
Filed under: Acne Scar Treatments Reviews; No CommentsGlycolic acid (or hydroxyacetic acid) is the smallest α-hydroxy acid (AHA). and it is highly soluble in water. It is used in various skin-care products and it is available in different percentages. Due to its excellent capability to penetrate skin, glycolic acid finds applications in skin care products, most often as a chemical peel performed by a dermatologist in concentrations of 70% or at-home kits in lower concentrations between 10 and 30%.
I got very good results using a 30% glycolic acid gel at home over the course of 10 weeks. I am 35, and I have some little ice pick scars from acne.
I peeled 4x a week for 10minutes ea.I have not sensitive skin and the ice picks scars are a bit shallower.
Apparently the results begin to show after a few treatments.
Glycoli acid also improves the look of my skin, leaving it bright and young looking. I also have been applying a copper peptide night cream after the peels and think this is beneficial, as well as applying hayluronic acid lotion and spf 70 sunscreen before leaving the house. It also really helped me with my red marks.
For the price this is definitely worth your try.
