Glycolic acid (or hydroxyacetic acid) is the smallest α-hydroxy acid (AHA). and it is highly soluble in water. It is used in various skin-care products and it is available in different percentages. Due to its excellent capability to penetrate skin, glycolic acid finds applications in skin care products, most often as a chemical peel performed by a dermatologist in concentrations of 70% or at-home kits in lower concentrations between 10 and 30%.
I got very good results using a 30% glycolic acid gel at home over the course of 10 weeks. I am 35, and I have some little ice pick scars from acne.

I also have been applying a copper peptide night cream after the peels and think this is beneficial, as well as applying hayluronic acid lotion and spf 70 sunscreen before leaving the house.
